Kogi state polytechnic expels 217 students, the academic management discloses the withdrawal of 217 students for their poor academic performance and 1 for forgery.
The statement which was signed by the Head, public relations and protocol unit, Mr Uredo Omale of the institution in lokoja.
The Academic board had embarked on the expulsion of Tope Atolagbe an HND II student of the department of library science.
With Matt no 2017/HND/LIS/134, for tendering forged (fake) documents, and expels 217 students for poor performance.
The decision was concluded at a meeting held by the management on August 9th.
The meeting was led by the Rector salisu Usman.
He approved examination results for the second semester of 2019/2020 academic session.
Students that were served withdrawal by the school management for poor academic performance include :
HND II (PUBLIC ADMIN 157)
ND I (ACCOUNTANCY 31
HND I (ACCOUNTANCY 09)
ALSO HND 11 BUS, COMPUTERS ENGR, 01, ADMIN, 04; HND 1, ND URBAN AND REGIONAL PLANNING 01 AND LIBRARY AND INFORMATION SCIENCE.
Due considerations was recommended by the student Disciplinary committee, Mr Atolagbe was found guilty of conniving with Gbenga Ayeni Michael to fabricate fake documents.
They illegally offered the fake documents to have statements of results and used it to dupe other unsuspecting students.
Gbenga Ayeni results will be withheld until he appears before the Disciplinary committee for further interrogation.
Following the recent news, the Rector, the Dean students services, Salawu Ijiji had redeployed to kogi poly consults as director.
John Otaruy who was the director of the poly consults was made Dean, students services, in a swap with Mr Ijiji.

LASU/FCE Osiele Abeokuta Degree Programme Matriculation 2021
Lagos State University in affiliation with Federal College of Education, Abeokuta (LASU/FCE) Matriculate fresh students’ into the Sandwich Degree Programme.
The matriculation ceremony was conducted on Saturday 7th August, 2021. This program followed an orientation program, held the previous day August 6, 2021 for students’ admitted for the 2021 Modular year by the Lagos State University Sandwich Degree Programme in affiliation with Federal College of Education, Osiele, Abeokuta campus.
The Ceremony commenced at exactly 1:54pm with a standing ovation for the arrival of dignitaries both from LASU/FCE Abeokuta. National Anthem and LASU Anthem were recited respectively.

Further more, the Acting provost of Federal College of Education, Abeokuta in person of Dr. Soyele R.A who was represented by the the Director of Center for Sandwich and Preparatory Program (CESAPREP) Federal College of Education, Abeokuta in person of Dr. Abati delivered a well structured speech for the new admitted student for 2021 Modular year.
However, he encourages the students’ to be a great ambassador of the institution and he congratulated them on their admission.
In attendance were over two thousand freshers (Module 1 and Direct entry student Module 2) into the institution LASU/FCE part time program.
